Capri's baby blessing weekend

Our little girl was blessed on Sunday and it was such a blessing!

Picture this: they announce the Anderson blessing and about 17 men get up and make their way to the front. OPE! and 2 even turned to go sit back down bc they saw the traffic jam. the circle made it work and capri was quiet and content as her father relayed a sweet sweet priesthood blessing upon her. what a special day! she really did look like an angel in the beautiful blessing dress her grandma anderson made her!

she has so much family that loves her and i'm so glad so many could be there on Sunday!

even though the dress was beautiful, she could only take so much of the frill, itch, and poof! what a trooper though!

Thanks to all those who could make it! Some of Capri's loved ones enjoying lunch afterwards (p.s. thanks taryn and taylor for opening up your soon-to-be newlywed apt for the lunch. nice and spacious & thanks to all those who brought food and helped out):

It's been great having my Texas fam here in town! We are enjoying our time in Roosevelt right now with the extended family. Chase is seeing Catching Fire with Grant and his friends right now bc earlier the others (me included- hello Peeta (who i favor) even if Gayle is nicer to look at!) went to the earlier showing. anywho. we took turns watching Capri! prolly not the most soothing movie for a baby to sleep through- so this arrangement worked best. i should be sleeping since Capri is but once again- blogging takes precedence. Capri's uncles are loving on her so much and everyone is obsessed with holding her and taking care of her (even changing diapers! have at it!) i love seeing grant and cay take such good care of the babe. they will be great dads one day!
and i'm happy capri could finally meet her pappa. he's such a good grandpa!

and two random quirky pics.
cay playing xbox in a box. strange duck that one.
had a vision of a good family photo opp. fail! and don't worry- cay was laying behind us supporting capri for safety reasons of course! hilarious!

this is our little cookie and we are so glad she brought the family together for this thanksgiving week! party on!

p.s. we had/have A LOT of decisions to make this month.
will my dad buy that house in orem?
will chase sell this summer?
will we get the storage unit property management position?
the last one is the one i really wanna talk about! remember about three months ago i mentioned how i called about 100 storage units asking if they were hiring anyone to live on their property and manage? well three days ago- we got a voice mail about an opening!! they liked my resume and cover letter. it stuck out to them so they called us first and are seeing if we are the right fit!! we went in for interview number one with the current property managers yesterday. and the owner called me today and we set up interview number 2!!! we are so excited and very hopeful. it's a 2 bedroom apartment on site and another family also lives on site (they also have a baby and it's perfect for stay-at-home moms) and we split up the "shifts" each day and it's an amazing opportunity and an answer to prayer!! how does this work? basically you go to the office (if you're morning shift but it's not much different for the afternoon. and for us the office is literally across the hall.) and turn on the lights and set up the computer and credit card machines and do a few other things (basically 20 minutes of preparation and settling in). grab the cordless phone and go back to your apt and wait for tenants to ring the doorbell (the door to the office is locked! safe! smart! check!) or for the phone to ring. and the current property manager said she gets about 4-5 calls a shift and maybe one at the door! and also once a day you take 20-30 minutes to walk around your half of the storage units to check that they're secure and that the walkway is clean.
oh doesn't that just sound like the perfect ticket for us? free rent and utilities plus some pay! it will save us about $1,000 a month! and chase will still work at chuck so we can save save save! we hope we get it so bad!!! it sounds amazing and the people we'll work with seem great! we'll keep you posted :) don't i always though! have a great thanksgiving- let's talk after that! roger. over and out!

funny char

yesterday, chase had a dentist appointment up in murray so i spent the afternoon at my in-laws. and somehow, i ended up watching three children by my lonesome. it was hilarious bc charlotte is a talker and a funny talker at that!

so ciara went to vent to a friend. bryton was at work. chase was at the dentists. and julie rushed off to make it to sonic's happy hour (79 cent drinks. can't beat it).
and this is the conversation between me and charlotte as i was keeping the two babies sleeping/ fed/ happy and stressed about these three chillens:

Me: Are you going to name your baby Cinderella?
Charlotte: Yes. My mommy and daddy don't like that name. They said a baby poops a lot and Cinderella doesn't poop a lot so a baby can't be named Cinderella. I think they don't have a sense of humor. (hahahahah) & (i asked Kina and that conversation never happened.)
Me: Well, that's okay bc now you can name your baby Cinderella.
Charlotte: Well, yeah. Daddy doesn't like Cinderella. He doesn't like games. But he likes hunting deer. The doggy eats bones. My mommy likes picking flowers.

hahaha! a child's mind and simplicity is fantastic.

I get off the phone with Chase and it seemed like Charlotte was just eating her corn flakes but she was actually listening to my convo with Chase bc Ciara walked in the door a few minutes later and this is that convo:
Ciara: Where is everyone?
Charlotte: They're gone. Grandma went to get me a strawberry drink. and Marissa is left here with four freakin' children (it was actually three) and lots of dogs.

hahahahaha! She's a crack up. I need to be a good example and use my influence for the positive! Love her!
And she loves her baby.
Char: I have a baby and you have a baby.

a good start

yesterday was a good start to the week. i was able to go to my girl audrey's house and watch her baby while she got a lil nap. he's three weeks old & oh what a beautiful baby he is. and i got us lunch and we started gilmore girls (audrey's first time through). and it was really a restful day surprisingly. it was great to serve and spend the day with the growing mck family. more beautiful repercussions from my mission- a friendship with audrey.

Capri was so curious (maybe jealous?) of me holding another baby.

Capri LOVED this swing. so much in fact that her mimi and papa schroedter bought it for her yesterday for christmas :) she's napping in it right now!

what another good lil baby we have here! love him!

this moment caused me to consider the realistic possibility of having twins. maybe i could handle it. hahahaha! i am the baby whisperer.
lil capri's hair has a mind of it's own. i tried to comb it down to see what would happen. the same effect as if i spike it up when she's done with her bath. once it gets heavy enough it will lay down.. hopefully.

and the last pic. this cutie! she can pull off the pigtail look! i can't believe she will be two months old tomorrow.

holly jolly christmas!

it's the month of thanksgiving and i am grateful for christmas. when it is thanksgiving week, i'll be all about thanksgiving with my family, my in-laws, my schroedter family, my ross family! but for now- i'm going to show you how my house has been overrun by christmas! a couple people have joined in with the christmas decor on my street as well. normality :) i have made a few christmas decorations since chase and i have been married. here are those gems:
we have the 25 days of christmas ornament felt craft. the binder of 25 days of christmas (song, scripture, christmas story) and the nativity oh holy night!
and the snowflakes, snowman, and stockings.
my mom is making capri one and bringing it up next week. we love grandma schroedter.

and we also love grandma anderson. she treats us so well:
along with these christmas decorations (which were all donated by grandma anderson aka julie! she used to own a craft store- i wish i coulda seen it! and she is quite the crafter herself. hence! so generous! makes me a better homemaker. well makes me look like a better homemaker bc i obvy didn't make these. and she prolly saved me over $600 while still filling my home with the christmas feeling) so all of these and she also gave us this tree ( i need more ornaments but that will come over the years and i need a star but i'll get that with a joann's coupon. and she made that christmas tree skirt when her and dave were first married. how tender to now have it in our home.) and this precious reindeer that i'm going to put presents in next to the tree.

ahhh i know this isn't the meaning of christmas but don't you just love it! the family, the traditions, the music, the decor, the love, the childhood memories, the giddy hearts, and the gratitude the whole world seems to partake in.
i really feel that the spirit of Christ touches all- even those that don't know the source of this spirit. the spirit of Christmas is powerful!

and the weekend is half way through and it's been a good one. thursday with lauryn, friday with kelly and becca. today full of errands and cody's birthday celebration. and i officially am no longer an employer worker. i'm a full-time stay-at-home mom and it feels so good!

and a not so christmas aspect of the house- but it's new and i love it more than the christmas pleasantries for sure!!

newborn pics

these song lyrics perfectly apply!
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.
and i decided for capri's 1st birthday, i will bind a book of pics from her first year.
i will do this for every child.
and then every 5 years i will make a 2012-2017 anderson family book, 2017-2022 anderson family book, etc.
like the kind of book you order from cougar creations. i'm over scrapbooking. oh boy, i overplan and think about my next 20 moves, the next meal i'll eat, the next time i have to take a shower, the next time i'll see my parents, the next time i'll see chase's family, the next time i'll have to fill up gas, etc. Too much forward thinking.
anyways. back to the important task at hand- posting capri's newborn pics. these ones are my fav from the litter.
